Miss Him, Miss Him, Miss Him

I was aware of the PAUL IS DEAD theory at the time but gave it little attention. Radio stations such as WABC, WKNR, CFNY, WPLJ, WMCA, WKBW, and their radio personalities were busy investigating PID and giving it airtime. Some of the jockeys involved were Roby Yonge, Alex Bennett, and Dave Fox. A number of famous people were interviewed and eight CD's of material resulted. New and improved link in comments.

I've always thought the Paul is Dead stuff became big because, like the rest of the country, DJ's were sick and tired of talking about Vietnam.

Good one. It seems to me I was grateful for the distraction.

The Univ of Michigan student newspaper used to claim that they started the rumor.

First I went, and then I really went, but there still didn't
seem to be any there.

BTW, I was too young to hear that rumor the first time around.
Someone had to explain it to me in the later 70s, when some of
the folks from the Los Angeles Free Music Society (LAFMS) started
recording under the name "Paul Is Dead."

Still nothing...

So kind of you to repost this, but alas the link is still broken - just downloads an empty folder.

Good grief. I am going to figure this out and repost. Stand by.

*Here you go*

That got it Edfray, much appreciated. I remember our local station running one of these when I was a kid. It was sort of spooky, what with all the records played backwards and visual 'clues.' Like Lennon observed, it was all bullish*t, but hey, it sold a lot of albums, so alright then. He was honest to a fault, probably what got him killed.

Just bought this great book by Ernesto Carbonetti, which really is a labour of love, and an interesting take on the story. https://www.xsnoize.com/book-review-paul-is-dead-when-the-beatles-lost-mccartney-by-paolo-baron-and-ernesto-carbonetti/

@Michael solof...
I love Beatles rarities...
There's nothing finer than the praise of a connoisseur. Nine years of Beatles DJ experience should be enough time to hone an edge that is unique. Beatles discourse is always better when there is dedicated experience involved in the topics of discussion. Fresh angles aren't always available but, interesting and informative make up any lack newness! The good news is that The Beatles are still fresh as day one.
Any rarities are appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
