Conception Corporation - Complete Conception

The Conception Corporation was an American comedy ensemble consisting of Murphy Dunne, Howard R. Cohen, Ira Miller, and Jeff Begun. They recorded three albums (one of them unreleased) between 1970 and 1973, and made the "underground television show" Void Where Prohibited by Law (similar in concept to Ken Shapiro's Groove Tube productions), which was shown in Chicago and Los Angeles in 1971. Carol Androsky and Lynne Lipton were part of the recording ensemble and members. I was too young to appreciate these guys and their publisher Rhino Records. Link in comments.

Thank you for this! All I had was bad vinyl rips of both albums. The file only has disc one so is disc two coming as it has the rest of the second album and unreleased stuff?

Thank you very much. Greatly appreciated. I do recall this stuff from way back when as I am old enough and I was living in the SoCal and NorCal areas for much of the 1970's. I laughed, etc then and expect to do so again as will my few years younger brother. Thanks again.

Thank you. I look forward to a listen and also noted the download appears to be the first of the two CDs that was in this Rhino Handmade set.

So Michael P... How about sharing that bad vinyl rip of the second album? We can correspond by email if you like; Edfray@Gmail.com

@Edfray - I thought you had found the entire collection so I backed off but I still have a couple of irons in the fire from my search - has to do with a friend's friend's sister who lives in Minnesota but she supposedly has the Entire Conception as MP3s. Will email you if things finally go right.

Uh Clem

Mr. Clem has straightened everything out. My giveaway Complete Conception is not complete but is disk 1 of 2. Clem has provided disk 2 and I will post it pronto.

Thanks so much for posting this. Just curious, is there anyplace on the interwebs where we can read the booklet for this? Information on these guys is hard to come by, and Rhino always did a top-notch job with liner notes. Thanks for any information you can pass along.

I wish. I don't know. This webpage has a lot of information on CC;

There is also more information about CC on Wikipedia.

I know it's been a year but did you ever get around to uploading the second half? Not sure if I missed a link or not. Either way, thanks for this.

Not tobe "that guy," but unless you folks are talking about something different, the second disc of the COMPLETE CONCEPTION collection was posted on the blog, and is still downloadable.

Thank you for posting! Any possibility of posting both discs in 320?

Alas no. My original media is gone.

No worries, I appreciate the post! I'm such a huge Firesign fan, but somehow never heard of this group. Wish I knew of them when Rhino put this collection out.
