Skatetown USA was a 1979 American film intended to capitalize on the Roller Disco fad. Roller Boogie and Xanadu were more of the same. Skatetown featured TV stars from the 60's and 70's including Scott Baio, Flip Wilson, Maureen McCormick, Ron Palillo, and Ruth Buzzi. This was the first movie for Patrick Swayze as well as Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratten. Link in comments.

Compared to this, "Roller Boogie" is Lubitsch.
I think so too. I just noticed that SKATETOWN was shot in the same places that CHIPS was. The same skate rental place can be seen in both.

The credits say The Unknown Comic is in the movie but the only guy with a bag on his head was Flip Wilson- and he took the bag right off! He was NOT the real Unknown Comic and we should get our money back.
