The Yeager Tapes - An Autobiography

Here is the autobiography of Chuck Yeager as read by Bob Collins, mostly, and also by Chuck and his wife Glennis. Chuck describes his life as a hunter, airplane mechanic, pilot, and leader. He was shot down during WW2 but escaped and returned to duty over Europe. After the war he became a test pilot and broke the speed of sound. You will see how military jealousies complicated his career. Six wonderful hours of audio. Link in comments.

Thank you for the Yeager, Ed - this'll be a nice li'l Christmas present for a former-USAF wingnut friend.

As a former USAF Wingnut in Vietnam, I thank you for this gift. General Yeager was commander of my squadron just before I arrived, so I never met him, yet he was a hero for me and mine. The Right Stuff personified...

"The Right Stuff" 1983 with Sam Shepard (Chuck Yeager), Scott Glenn (Captain Alan Bartlett Shepard), Ed Harris (Major John Herschel Glenn), Dennis Quaid (Captain Leroy Gordon Cooper) etc. is one of my favorite films to date!
