Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock - 2012

Sammy Hagar delivers a fine autobiography which sheds light on Ronnie Montrose, Steve Marriott, The Van Halen Brothers, David Lee Roth, and others. Link in comments.

I love Sammy and picked up the Kindle version when it came out. He told his story to an author who did the writing for him, which is common. At one point, the author refers to the album “Nine on a Ten Scale” as “Nine on a Scale of Ten”. He (Hagar) also claimed to be the one to reach out to Roth with the idea for their ill-fated tour, but you can still find the video on YouTube from Hagar’s appearance on Howard Stern where Hagar claims the idea was Roth’s. Goofy things like that aside, I enjoyed the book.

Good stuff Alan. It is said that every time you visit your memories you change them.

I’d never heard that saying before, but there’s probably some truth to that. :)

Genius! I have this hardcover, but have yet to read it in this hectic world. The audio will be perfect! Thanks a bunch.
