Overdrawn At The Memory Bank - 1983

Producer-Director Fred Barzyk of WGBH Boston helped make BETWEEN TIME AND TIMBUKTU happen as well as THE LATHE OF HEAVEN. He also brought us OVERDRAWN AT THE MEMORY BANK in 1983, based on a story by sci-fi author John Varley. Link in comments.

As brilliantly seen on MST3K, proving not EVERYTHING on PBS was "superior entertainment." Thanks for the post. I am interested to see if MST3K edited anything.

I recently watched this for the first time and had to grin at the special effects. The pace seemed all wrong as well as I wasn't marveling as I should have.

I saw at once this wasn't a movie to be "taken seriously" and on that basis it was a very fun ride. Made me want to dig out the old Max Headroom episodes...

That's very interesting. I think I watched it with expectations that were too high. Oh dear.
