Roller Boogie - Video - 1979

The tunes are nice - especially the one that Cher sings. The skating is fun and the ending is almost poignant. Some of these skaters will be seen again in XANADU. Link in comments.

A True And Scary Story;

I bought a new Samsung Galaxy J7 Android phone that was for sale
cheap on Amazon. I loaded it up with games and audio and video files. I then
had the bright idea to install a much larger memory card. It seemed smart to
wipe the J7 and then insert the larger card and then fill that memory card full
of fun. I reset the J7 and restarted it and was shocked to see that I was
obliged to provide the User and Password. This made no sense. In my experience
a wiped Android does not have a User or Password just yet. It turns out this
was a new feature! It prevents a stolen J7 from being reused by the thief. To
my great annoyance I had forgotten the user and password for this particular
phone and so could not proceed! I searched for a way to really-really reset a
J7 and found nothing.

And now the exciting part. I decided to disassemble the android and ruin the
printed circuit card and then throw the pieces away. The case resisted
disassembly so I leaned it up against a brick and whacked it with a mallet.
Guess what happened next. There was a small explosion and a hot black jet of
molten black plastic hit my mallet and my hand giving me a small painful burn.
This was instantly followed by a jet of white smoke that lasted 10 seconds or
more and then slowed and stopped. The case began swelling up and getting hot.
This lasted 5 minutes or so. A half-hour later the case was cool enought to
handle so I put it in a coffee can of cat litter for later disposal. I searched
the web for Android + Fire and found an account of an Android on a commercial
flight causing a similar fire in the passenger compartment.

Beware.

Samsung. Every product I ever purchased of theirs had issues. I loathe them.

From The Exorcist to Roller Boogie all in the same decade.
Sorry to see a promising career go down in such Rayon flames.
Thanks for the memories.
