The Magical Mystery Tour Revisited - 2012

This 1966 album was made into a 1967 film. In 2012 the film was revisited for BBC television by Paul, Ringo, Martin Scorsese, Neil Innes, Peter Fonda, and others. Link in comments.

Thanks for these videos, Edfray! Any chance you can come up with one called "All You Need Is Love"? If you are not familiar with it, I guarantee it is worth the search!

MarcC; I found a 10-minute video documentary called THE STORY BEHIND THE BEATLES "ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE". Is this the one you recommend?

Sorry, Edfray, I may have given you a rather difficult task. I'll spill the beans: The night John Lennon was murdered, it was shown late at night on my local TV station - it was almost a shot-by-shot template for The Rutles "All You Need Is Cash"! I have searched for it for decades, but never found it on the internet. I may have a VHS copy somewhere - if I find it, I will get a copy to you. Thanks for all you provide!

You are very welcome. If you find it on VHS I will rip it and put it on the blog.

I'm betting MarcC's film IS the Rutles, misrememberd through grief and decades as a real Beatles joint.

Edfray - regarding the film I referenced above, I did manage to find a listing on a defunct trading list on the internet:

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE - 2/19/78 52:00 A
THIS BRITISH TV SPECIAL CONTAINS INTERVIEWS WITH
JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE MARTIN, AND DEREK TAYLOR. ALSO
INCLUDED IS FOOTAGE OF OTHER SIXTIES ROCK ICONS.
FROM PBS-TV.

I tried emailing the trader, but his email was dead. Just a touch of evidence that this exists - I will continue searching!

Marc

P.S. - Thanks for all your wonderful shares!

You are welcome. SAY! I found All You Need Is Love on eBay as a VHS tape. A person could buy it, rip it, and share it. How about yourself? You buy, I rip?
