The first two discs are full of early gems; the third disc covers the decline of surf music in the late sixties, and the final disc gives us a survey of modern surf-revival music. I heart Rhino Records but this box is out-of-print and will probably stay that way. Link in comments.

George Van Eps' Seven-String Guitar - 1967

That extra guitar-string makes a difference. Apparently this album was distributed to radio stations such as Iowa Public Radio but no records were then pressed for public sale. The album doesn't exist on Wikipedia. Link in comments.
