The Beatles appeared on the Morecambe & Wise show on April, 18th, 1964 but the appearance was actually taped over four months previously on December 2nd, 1963.
Having said that, The Morecambe & Wise Show wasn't The Beatles' first TV appearance - that honour goes to Granada TV's regular People and Places program on October 17, 196. The Beatles drove to Manchester to appear on the show - , played Love Me Do and their cover of Some Other Guy. Once the program ended, The Beatles drove back to Liverpool to headline an evening concert at the Cavern.
