This video was recorded in Largo, Maryland in 1976. The performance includes a bass guitar solo - the 5 guitars interlude - flooding the floor with cold carbon dioxide - guitar on guitar action - laser and smoke effects - Chuck Berry kicks during the synthesizer solo - REAPER performed as an encore - and Buck breaking all of his guitar strings at the end. I am glad to have finally seen a BÖC show from this era. Link in comments.
This was recorded live and broadcast on syndicated FM radio and sounds much better than an old VHS rip. This recording was done to promote the BÖC tour and is a teaser, so you only get the 6 tunes. Link in comments.
Here are 40 or so Ask Doctor Science spots that were often heard on Public Radio back when. They were created by Dan Coffey and Merle Kessler of Iowa's own expatriated Duck's Breath Mystery Theatre. Also included is the radio play Dr. Science And The Sea Monkeys From Hell. Link in comments. Dan Coffey is retired and living in Thailand BTW.
This concert in Maryland was recorded in mono and went to VHS. In 1991 it was bootlegged to DVD, I think, and still later made into a mono audio CD. This recording is the DVD audio improved a bit with Matrix Spatializer. Link in comments.
A fine year for Leo Kottke. There are 11 tracks - one of which is AIRPROOFING. Leo also sings PAMELA BROWN. This is one of two albums by LK which are out-of-print. Is it a mystery or is this CD just a bootleg? Link in comments.
These are all Iowa bands and artists recorded in the studios of Public Radio station KUNI. You can't have heard of these groups unless you are one of those Minnesotans, Missourians, etc. 16 tracks in all. Turn your back - walk away. Easy-to-ignore link in comments.
This is a collection of 12 rarities by the Moodies. The quaint CITIES reached chart position #2 stateside in 1972 and the perplexing LATE LAMENT reached #11 in 1974. The other 10 tracks charted at #26 or lower or never charted at all. Link in comments.
David Lynch and Frank Herbert smugly discuss their film DUNE - before the disastrous previews and frantic re-editing of the film for theatrical release. We find Frank - having taken no spice himself - relaxed, and working on the script for the presumed sequel - which never happened...
This album is also out-of-print like Curse Of The Hidden Mirror. HARVEST MOON is very nice and perhaps some of the other tracks will improve with listening. Buck Dharma has suggested that a new BÖC album might happen but that was a year ago. Link in comments.
This CD is 17 years out-of-print and may never be reissued and fetches $73 on Amazon, used. I could put a link for it in the comments, I suppose. I might. Maybe.
These Aussies did not care for the Punk sound and their product was uneven. TEMPLE OF THE LORD became a great music video, and you might enjoy the tunes JUST LIKE FIRE WOULD and ALL FOOLS DAY as well. JUST LIKE FIRE WOULD was recently re-recorded by Bruce Springsteen.
