When I was in high school in Trumbull, CT, we had this movie on video tape. It was viewed many, many times by the kids in the AV dept. Now, more than 40 years later, the scene that sticks with me is the Handicapper General. People should watch it today, to see where equality can lead if individuality is suppressed in pursuit of an imprecise ideal.
I saw this back at the Ogden Theater on East Colfax Avenue, Denver Colorado, in the 70's. Lots of memories now on what was going down then -- but some of the more poignant issues persist have not gone away. (Astonishing to think about the Jordan Peterson "movement" during the last couple of years.) Haven't figured out where to use the password so far: one pop-up keeps recurring "You must use Password" but there's no place offered to enter it! If you can HELP, so MANY THANKS to you.
Here are all 4 parts of Between Time And Timbuktu. Enjoy.

ReplyDeleteHere is a wonderful interview with Vonnegut in Britain in promotion of the film;

Part 4 is asking for a password to un-zip the file. Could you share that? Thanks for parts 1-3 regardless!

Thank you for posting this. I saw it in college in the early 70's. A lost treasure.
ReplyDeleteLucky you. I found out about it a year ago. It doesn't seem so wild now... But still...

ReplyDeleteThat's very interesting. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much, I've never seen this before! Bob and Ray, Ed Hickey, Cousin Brucie- WOWIE! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. I was thrilled to find it. It was an early ambitious effort from WGBH executive Fred Barzyk, who then went on to do Lathe Of Heaven.
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to see this for thirty years! Many thanks

I'm going to prepare a download that won't need to be unzipped. Check this post later today or tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHere it is as one big file that does not need unzipping. Good luck.
